This Week’s Link Roundup #23

Every week millions of interesting links pop up around the Web. Some detail updates and advances in technology, some provide great insight to marketing strategies and tactics, some broaden our knowledge of the world around us, and others are just plain out-there.   • Facebook considering the #hashtag.
    The Wall Street Journal reported that Facebook is considering incorporating the extremely popular hashtag, which was created and made famous by Twitter.



  • New Penguin/Panda updates coming soon.
    Google’s Matt Cutts promises significant updates to Penguin and Panda (the big search and spam algorithm that Google uses to index and sort the World Wide Web). No real details but it’s definitely worth keeping at the top of mind.
  • Google kills Google Reader.
    And the Internet explodes in grief and outrage. Yes, the beloved Google Readers is being dissolved in three months, according to Google, because of a lack of users.
  • The New York Times looks to redesign.
    The New York Times hasn’t redesigned since 2006, but that will soon change. They released an animated preview of their new site. What do you think?
